The Bible proves itself. One of the most powerful ways the Bible proves itself is the fulfillment of prophecies centuries before their ultimate fulfillment in exacting detail. Similarly, types and pictures of people and events are woven through the Bible that illustrate Jesus, salvation, the Holy Spirit, God the Father, and more. For instance, Abraham’s test of faith on Mount Moriah with Isaac and the Passover lamb are pictures of Jesus, the Lamb of God. In preparation for the Passover, the lamb had to be inspected and found to be spotless. Jesus was inspected by Pilate who found him without fault. Jesus’ seamless white coat became soaked in his blood. Whereas God covered Adam and Eve’s sin with an animal skin (a lamb), when we are born again, Jesus puts his coat of righteousness on us. As the Tree of Life was “in the midst” of the Garden, Jesus, our Tree Of Life, was crucified between two thieves and “Jesus in the midst” (and he was crucified in a garden).
