When God opens doors, the devil will oppose us. We’re encouraged by open doors. But as a Christian, you need to learn how to shut doors. When the disciples were gathered in the upper room in John 20, they shut the doors for fear of the Jews. It kept the world out, so Jesus could come in and say, “Peace be unto you.” When we shut doors and shut out the world, Jesus can come in to us. Sometimes God shuts doors to protect us. Satan tries to tell us God is withholding from us (like he did with Eve) by shutting doors. It’s always better to keep sin outside the doors than trying to get it out after it’s in. God’s salvation brings us peace with God. Spending time with Him behind closed doors brings the peace of God.
