There are two kinds of church shoppers. Those who look for a church where the pastor preaches the truth of the whole Word of God, and those who seek a church that is “soft on.” or will sanction, their sin. In other words, there are churches that don’t want you to ever feel “uncomfortable,” and those, far fewer, that understand because we live in these robes of flesh that the Word is going to make us uncomfortable with our sin. If you’re at this church, you know the preaching isn’t mean, it’s true. And God’s truth is meant only for the reason that should make us all willing to receive it, namely that it works God’s lasting good in us.
