God tells us not to do specific things, not to deprive us, but so that we can live in victory! You are in a life-long fight against your flesh. Judges 3:31 tells us Shamgar slew of the Philistines six hundred men with an ox goad. The Philistines are a type of the flesh, corrupting the Spirit of God in His people. The Philistines don’t want you to enjoy the presence of God in your life. Shamgar was an ordinary man. Our goad is the Word of God. Be a Shamgar, fight your flesh, enjoy God’s presence!
