Gideon doesn’t believe God’s words and asks for signs, then still doesn’t believe. Signs don’t produce faith. If signs produced faith, the Jews wouldn’t have killed Christ. That’s why Jesus told them the only sign they would receive was the sign of Jonas (The empty tomb). The transfiguration didn’t change James, Peter and John. Today, charismatic signs are setting the stage for the coming antichrist. We don’t need a sign. We have been given a more sure word of prophecy. We need to believe what He said. Beware of church spectacles that overshadow God’s Word. Satan always tempts us to doubt the Word.
