The people with Gideon were too much for the Lord to give the Midianites into their hand, or Israel would have taken the credit. He told Gideon to send home all whose heart was not in the fight. Only 10 thousand were left. 22 thousand went home. The devil’s bunch have always outnumbered God’s people. Israel has always been the smallest nation. God told Gideon to only take the men that drank water out of their hand, not those who put their faces in the water to drink more freely to satisfy their flesh. Those driven by their flesh forget that we are at war with the flesh and don’t fight it, 300 fought with Gideon. Saved people are soldiers enlisted in God’s army. Most churches want as many campers as possible, not 300 soldiers.
