We are never told in the Bible to make a vow to God. Making a vow with God is “bargaining” with our God who will always do what is best, regardless of what we bargain for. The book of Judges’ recurring theme is “doing what was right in their own eyes.” It’s important to know how to serve God because if we don’t, we mess up!. None of the Judges searched the scriptures.
