Samson broke every Nazarite vow except for cutting his hair. It wasn’t a thousand Philistines that were the ruin of Samson but one woman’s mouth (Proverbs 7). Samson didn’t look naturally strong, he was supernaturally strong (God’s strength). His strength was not in his hair but his God. Samson put Delilah ahead of God and made himself vulnerable. What do you put ahead of God that make you vulnerable? He had several opportunities to repent but he wanted what he wanted. Delilah never compromised. Samson kept compromising. His disobedience made him as weak and vile as any man and wound up grinding the enemy’s corn—as carnal Christians often do.
