“Samson wist not that the Lord was departed from him.” God is bigger than our dumb mistakes. Where sin abounds, grace did much more abound. For most of his life, Samson lived literally in the far country. He had gotten away with his sin for so long it was a sudden, sharp drop when he fell into the hands of the Philistines. At any time, Samson could have repented and fulfilled God’s will for his life but he waited far too long. Now, blind and set at hard labor, grinding the enemy’s corn, he turned back to the Lord and for only the second time recorded, Samson prayed. It’s never too late to turn back to God—until it is. Don’t wait. Don’t keep grinding the enemy’s corn.
