Have you ever been down? When we’re down, we tend to look that way. Not just in our demeanor but with our face hanging low. There were many times the Lord’s anointed himself, was hunted and hiding. The Psalms are filled with his despair. But the Lord is faithful in His promises. As David wrote in Psalm 3:3, “But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of my head.” When God lifted David’s head he was looking in the face of God’s love in his grief. Lift up you head to see the face of your loving Saviour. He knows. He cares. He’s there.
