Jude is warning us not about falling out of salvation but falling into apostasy. God is able to keep us from falling. Don’t mistake the weakness of Christians or the weakness of churches for the weakness of God. God is able. But we focus on our own weakness, using it as our excuse; when we really need to focus on the truth that God is able. We need a revival of confidence in God and less confidence in ourselves. “Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall” (1 Cor 10:12) Look at all the mighty men in the Bible who, when they thought they were able, failed but had victory when they had faith in God’s ability. We too can have the victory, now and ever; do we have faith He is able?
