When Jesus questioned Peter about his love for Jesus, He made it clear, that love would be manifested by feeding Jesus’ sheep. We are His sheep, and God blesses His flock with shepherds to feed us (1 Timothy 5:17). A Pastors’ job is to love Jesus so he can love His sheep. Love means preaching the whole word faithfully, both sincere milk as well as meat, and once in a while, even hard things (like Peter) that are unpleasant to hear—so we can grow into maturity in Christ.
