When it became known by Pharoah that Joseph’s brothers were come to Egypt, he told Joseph to return to Canaan with wagons enough to bring all his family back to Egypt. In Genesis 45:20 he adds, “Also regard not your stuff; for the good of all the land of Egypt is yours”. Pharoah wanted Joseph to bring all of his family members. They would not need their belongings from Canaan because Pharoah would supply all their needs (Just like God supplies our needs). But Genesis 46:6 says that in addition to their relatives “they took their cattle and their goods.” We believers are wagons. God wants us to regard not our stuff, that stuff we can’t take with us when we die. What’s in your wagon? All of our wagons are jammed full of stuff. How many people are in your wagon? What if we cared the way God cares about people? Our family, friends and strangers we meet? When one day you arrive in heaven, what will you have brought in your wagon? What stuff can you toss out of it now to make room in your wagon and your heart?
