0215/2026PM Beware The Traveler

When David sinned with Bathsheba and then compounded his sin, murdering Uriah, her husband; it was at the height of his success as King. Beware at these times. It is at times of success and ease that we are the most apt to fall. Nathan cunningly reproved King David with his story about the rich man taking the poor man’s little lamb that was like a daughter to him. The rich man took the lamb because a traveler had visited him and he served the lamb to the traveler. David was incensed by the injustice and Nathan cried out, “Thou art the man!” But though David’s sin was great, so was his repentance. But the consequences of his sin cost him much, 3 sons dead and a daughter defiled. We must commit to our hearts that when God blesses us with wealth, ease or success that we not find ourselves where we don’t belong. At such times, the traveler may pop in, whisper in our ear, and be long gone when reap what we have sown.
