God often uses the little things to do the big things. On Mt. Carmel, there was revival when Elijah called down fire, And when all the people saw it, they fell on their faces: and they said, The Lord, he is the God; the Lord, he is the God (1 Kings 18:39). But there would have been no Elijah without the gentile widow. Jesus said there were many widows in the land but God used the one that gave it all. Is our church the widow, or Israel? The world tries to convince us we’ll never have enough, the opposite of the Bible. God deserves our best. Does our desire to serve God exceed our desire for self?
