Often, Jesus’ teachings were not the soft and fluffy moments portrayed by Hollywood or even from many pulpits but were hard truths. Hard not only for the crowds and the religious leaders but for His disciples as well. The crowds were following after Jesus for the physical blessings. We tend to ask Jesus to do our will when He wants us to do His will. Hard sayings are the ones that demand we change. The whole purpose of His miracles was so they’d know they could believe His words.
