In the beginning we find that God is a divider. He divided the light from the darkness. He divided the waters. He divided land and nations and peoples. God is a divider because He is a God of order. In this respect, there are no gray areas with God. Those who seek to “keep the peace” through compromise or playing neutral lack faith. Jesus told the Laodicean church He would rather they were hot or cold than lukewarm. Every time Jesus spoke He created division. Some mocked, some believed, some deflected to appear scholarly; others, because they hated the truth, sought to kill him.
