07/28/2024AM THE GOSPEL: Abraham, Isaac and Calvary

Genesis 22 tells the account of Abraham and Isaac on Mount Moriah. It represents the picture of Calvary from God’s perspective (Moriah means foreseen of Jehovah).  1,500 years later, Mount Moriah is where Jerusalem and Calvary will be. In this account two words appear for the first time in the Bible, love, and worship. This story is rich with symbols that relate to God’s great sacrifice and the work He completed out of his love for us. True worship is giving God what you love the most (your heart). Realizing what God has done for us on Calvary ,and trusting in that is worship. Isaac submitted to his father. He knew that if his father trusted God enough to do this, then he will trust his father. What a beautiful parallel with Jesus and his Father.
