08/10/2025PM Always and Alway

John 8:28 When Jesus tells the crowd, “When ye have lifted up the Son of man, then shall ye know that I am he,” He was speaking of His crucifixion but He did not say that they would believe. Yet, at Pentecost, when Peter, recounted Jesus’ signs and miracles and His death on the cross, followed by His resurrection, he then connected all of it to the Scripture, proclaiming Israel had crucified their Lord and Christ. Many in that same crowd Jesus told would know who He was when he was lifted up, now were pricked in their hearts and asked Peter and the apostles, “what shall we do?” In John 8:29 Jesus said, “for I do always those things that please him (The Father).” Why did He say always and not alway? Always means on every occasion or instance, not sometimes but every time. Alway is an unbroken duration of time, continuous, without interruption. The Preacher explains the differences between them and it’s eye-opening (for your spiritual eyes)!
