The result was great hurt, and family deaths. Sarai, on the other hand, wanted something good, something God had promised and she came up with a shortcut. Neither she nor Abram asked God about their scheme. This resulted in great hurt and family turmoil and enmity between peoples for thousands of years and up to the present day. Getting what you want can make you worse of after getting it. Satan’s routine deception since the garden has been planting the idea that you deserve what you want and why wait? God’s way almost always requires waiting. Waiting for something God has approved will always result in His assistance leading to fruitfulness.
