John the Baptist’s father, Zacharias is a temple priest doing his usual duties according to the custom in the temple but is surprised when he hears from God. Good routines are important but be sure you don’t lose their meaning. Do we get some routines checked off our list so that we can get to what the flesh wants? Have you ever come to church out of routine with no heart, no faith in it? Not expecting to hear from God? The Laodicean church age was having church without Christ, with Him on the outside, asking to come in. We are evidence of answered prayer! Don’t forget, we have a real God who hears us!
