The Seventy weeks prophesied in Daniel have not run out. In the Old Testament, weeks can represent years. The clock on the 70 weeks started when the remnant returned and began rebuilding the temple. When Jesus was crucified the clock stopped at 69 weeks (exactly). That is, 69 weeks of years, or 483 years. The one week, remaining. that is 7 years, represents the tribulation period in the Book of Revelation. The two thousand plus years (and counting) in between, is the Church age, the Age of Grace, which will end when Christ returns and takes us, His Church and the Holy Spirit out of the world. Then the clock starts on the 7 years of tribulation.
Jesus’ triumphal entry into Jerusalem on the donkey represented His bringing salvation to the Jews, which was rejected. When He returns on a white horse, He’ll be bringing victory! In the meantime, the donkey represents us—Jesus loosed us from bondage, to serve Him by taking His salvation to the world.
