Growing in the Lord takes time and effort and the most important factor is consistency. It takes a commitment of the will but we tend to find our motivations in feelings. Our feelings are based on our flesh and can’t be trusted. God wants us to yield our will to His. Continually yielding is the way to stay rooted, to keep growing. Whether it’s prayer, Bible reading, church whenever the doors are open— consistency in these, over time, is how God grows each of us; and we are who He can use to reach the world.
