11/23/2025AM Get Alone In A Garden

Cities are the antithesis of a garden; especially the garden where one man walked with God. Cain wasn’t kicked out by God, Genesis 4:16 says “he went out from the presence of the Lord.” Then Cain builded a city. Cities are full of people and noise, hustle and bustle including unrestrained evil. It’s hard to remember the Lord there, much less hear His voice. Cities tend to make people self-sufficient, self-interested and that makes for self-destruction. When the devil tested Job, he took everything possible away from him, except for his life. The devil failed but he learned. Today the devil tests us by giving us everything possible to distract us from God. Today, the city comes into our homes, into our gardens, by radio, television, Internet, social media and so much worse. When Jesus was tempted by Satan and when He was betrayed by Judas (indwelt by Satan) He knew to get alone in a garden and talk to His Father. We can’t stop the city but we can go back to the garden and walk with the Lord.
