Jesus said little from the cross but each statement was a sermon. Jesus was born so that he could die. His whole life was for this purpose. He left his mother in the care of John, trusting his disciple more than his siblings. In the same way, Jesus wants us to care for each other; the love we have for Jesus bonds us together—just like the love Mary and John had for Jesus.
