12/14/2025PM I Thirst

Psalm 22 represents prophesy about Christ’s death on the cross that was fulfilled in exacting detail. After a lifetime of referring to God as His Father, at the ninth hour he cried with a loud voice, “My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? We, all of us, are the reason why! “For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him” (2 Corinthians 5:21). After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, “I thirst” (John 19:28) The One who created the universe, the earth and water itself, cried out in thirst as the wrath of God for our sins was poured out on Him who knew no sin. This same Jesus invites all, “Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.” If you’re lost and need salvation or if you’re saved but find yourself thirsting, far from God, remember Proverbs 25:25, “As cold waters to a thirsty soul, so is good news from a far country.” Jesus has the water of life. Come home! Come home to your Creator.
